Getting Started

Start searching curated collections right away, or build your own from YouTube channels.

Before you start

You can explore curated collections and ask questions without an account. Sign in to create your own collections, annotate transcripts, and save your work.

Step by step

1

Explore curated collections

The home page features ready-made collections spanning topics like CS, startups, and more. Click any collection to start asking questions instantly — no setup required.

Use the Explore page to browse all available sources, filter by title, or click a topic tag to browse by subject.

2

Ask a question

Select a collection or source and type any question in natural language. refind returns a synthesised answer with timestamped citations — click any citation to jump directly to that moment in the video.

3

Build your own collection

Want to search your own channels? Click Add Content in the navigation bar or paste a URL directly.

refind accepts:

  • A single video — youtube.com/watch?v=...
  • A playlist — youtube.com/playlist?list=...
  • An entire channel — youtube.com/@handle

Then create a Collection to group sources together and query them as a unified knowledge base.

Large channels may take several minutes to process — you can start asking questions as soon as the first videos complete.
4

Annotate and organize

While watching a video, add annotations tied to specific timestamps. Clip annotations into notebooks to build a searchable reference you can revisit or share.

5

Share your insights

Share individual answers via link, or export your notebooks. Everything stays connected to the original video timestamps so anyone can verify the source.
